Joseph Kowalczyk, MD
Chairman, Dept of Medicine

Dr. Joseph Kowalczyk is the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois. He completed his medical school at Rush Medical College and stayed to complete his internal medicine residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center.

He has been a beacon of excellence in his service to the community as a primary care physician, his progressive leadership for the institution, and his passion for improving education for the internal medicine residency. 

​Armand Krikorian, MD, MBA, FACE, FACP
Program Director, Internal Medicine
​Vice-Chair, Dept of Medicine

Dr. Armand Krikorian is the program director  of the Internal Medicine Residency at Advocate Christ Medical Center campus. Prior to his tenure, he served as Associate Program Director for Internal Medicine at Case Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Endocrinology at Case Western Reserve University. He also was the Associate Medical Director for the UH Accountable Care Organization in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training and fellowship in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Krikorian was elected as a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, he also serves on the program planning committee of the Association of Program Directors of Internal Medicine and is the president-elect of the American Federation of Medical Research. He has participated in the ACCORD study as a co-principal investigator and has been recognized by multiple awards locally and nationally. He presents regularly at the APDIM conferences and his research interests include graduate medical education, patient safety, patient satisfaction and diabetes.
